Alicia White is an award-winning environmentalist, social entrepreneur, and founder of Project Petals, a leading organization advancing climate equity, environmental justice, and community development. Her work mobilizes communities to engage in environmental stewardship, influence policy, and build climate resilience—particularly in BIPOC neighborhoods.

Through Project Petals, Alicia has improved the environments of thousands of New York residents and helped drive major policy efforts, including serving on the coalition for New York’s historic $4.2 billion Environmental Bond Act.

She has spoken at Princeton University’s Keller Center, PRSA, and other institutions on climate change, equity, innovation, and leadership.

Alicia’s impact has earned recognition from ABC News, Discovery Channel, HuffPost’s 99 Female Founders, NY Knicks, Yankees, and Points of Light, and she was named a Vital Voices & Estée Lauder Top 100 Global Woman Leader. Her work has been featured in People, ABC, NBC, NY1, Women’s Health, and HuffPost, and she’s been spotlighted on The Drew Barrymore Show, where Drew described her as “someone who has something to teach us all.”Alicia’s advocacy work stems from a lifelong passion for improving the environment in BIPOC communities, making environmental innovation and leadership educational programming accessible, and connecting communities with vital resources. To date, Project Petals has directly improved thousands of New York residents’ environments. 

She has worked on policy changes in New York. Alicia was on the committee and coalition of the $4.20 billion Environmental Bond Act of New York. The largest environmental bond act in New York’s History. 

 She has spoken at the KELLER CENTER of innovation at PRINCETON UNIVERSITY, PRSA Public Affairs and Government Section, and countless other institutions on subjects such as climate change, environmental equity, social impact, social innovation, community development, leadership, women in leadership, and youth leadership. 

Alicia has been awarded for her work by ABC News, Discovery Channel, Huffington Post’s 99 Limit Breaking Female Founders, NBA New York Knicks’ City Award, New York City Mayoral Service Honor Award, NY1 News, MLB Yankees Hero Award, and Points of Light. Most recently, she has been named a Vital Voices and Estee Lauder Top 100 Global Women leader.
